N2  - In this study of otherness in the phenomenological philosophy, of Husserl, Derrida, Levinas and Waldenfels, it will be shown, how the other at first becomes a theme within tlie frame of reference defined by intentionalistic Phenomenology, but as a problem, that transcends this frame. Only a phenomenology that is radicalized according to a theory of difference and tumed ethical can make a claim for the radically other, thus preceeding every intentionality and evading any form of systematic thinking.
