N2  - Organoide sind Mini-Werkzeuge für die biomedizinische Forschung. Sie werden außerhalb des Körpers aus Stammzellen gezüchtet und bilden gezielt bestimmte Organe nach. So gibt es etwas Hirnorganoide, Lungenorganoide oder Darmorganoide, die die entsprechenden Organe in der Zellzusammensetzung und grundlegenden Funktionen nachahmen. Sie können als Krankheitsmodelle oder als Testsysteme für neue Medikamente dienen. Das White Paper führt in die Welt der Organoide ein und beinhaltet auch Kernaussagen und Handlungsempfehlungen zum Thema, welche die interdisziplinäre Arbeitsgruppe Gentechnologiebericht der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften erarbeitet hat.
N2  - Organoids are miniaturized biomedical research tools. They are derived from stem cells and grown in threedimensional cell culture. Organoids are tailored to resemble certain organs, such as the brain, the lungs or the intestines. They can serve as disease models and as test systems for drug screenings, for example.
This White Paper introduces the reader to organoids and their different applications. Additionally, it contains core statements and recommendations for action on organoids, presented by the Interdisciplinary Research Group Gene Technology Report of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
